João is an eccentric 30 something year-old men, that splits his time between a telemarketing job and his true passion, playing with dolls. Beth is his favorite doll and on her birthday, João serves tea to her three friends: Bianca, an old Barbie, Benedita, a Susi fiancee and Bruna, a black Barbie. After a day of work, João arrives home and is scared by a horror scene. Beth is mutilated, drowned in a cup of tea. João initiates an interrogatory with the other three dolls to find out who is responsible for the crime.

„Mad World“ is a surreal and contemporary short film, that sheds a light on the growing disconnection within our current society. The director and his team used various forms of dance and dialogue to critique and challenge our perspective through an abstract lens. „Mad World“ was only shot with a smartphone and was deliberately produced as a self-financed film project.

„Mad World“ ist ein surrealer und zeitgenössischer Kurzfilm, der die wachsende Entkoppelung unserer heutigen Gesellschaft betrachtet. Der Regisseur und sein Team nutzen verschiedene Tanz- und Dialogformen, um unsere Perspektive durch eine abstrakte Linse zu kritisieren und herauszufordern. „Mad World“ wurde nur mit dem Smartphone gedreht und bewusst als eigenfinanziertes Filmprojekt produziert.
